have coffee with a old friend

we were friends in college. Eight years later we went and had drinks at the local pub! We hadn’t seen each other in so long but it was just like old times. I’m glad I managed to meet up with an old friend in my new life. It only took us eight years and five states away from where we started.

It’s not who or what I had in mind when I wrote the goal but I think I’ll call it a day on this one. Growing up makes these kinds of simple pleasures hard to come by.

because out of all the goals I started with on 43things this is the one I had hoped to see through sooner rather than later. I miss my old friends so much but being thousands miles away makes grabbing coffee difficult. If only it weren’t so expensive to fly. I would go in a heartbeat and have coffee with one dearly missed friend in particular. I never thought that growing up and moving away meant to leave those who helped shape my life behind forever. It seemed like such an easy goal when I first wrote it but now….........

We both had major life changes at the same time and after 3 years of great friendship we lost touch. I searched for him over and over the last few years with no luck and then…We found each other through Myspace after 6 years of silence!

He’s coming to Seattle, from my hometown of Dallas, in a few weeks to have coffee with me!

--Beacuse of the cost of flights this didn’t happen after all :(
