I was invited and have had it on my list for a long time. Just not sure how to use this as a vehicle to unite the world…though it’s nice knowing there are others that would like to see our world united. Best of luck to all of you sticking with it. 4 years ago

It’s been a while since I last posted for this goal, and so I thought of sharing one of my favourite Pablo Neruda poems.

When I returned from so many journeys,
I stayed suspended and green
between sun and geography -
I saw how wings worked,
how perfumes are transmitted
by feathery telegraph,
and from above I saw the path,
the springs and the roof tiles,
the fishermen at their trades,

I have a proposition for everyone on 43 Things…just for today, make a connection with a stranger, be it someone in the line-up at the grocery store, or someone at the bus stop…smile and talk about the weather, the flowers, or compliment him/her in some way…a little gesture goes such a long way. 5 years ago

Woohoo, I shall be watching the final with my friend on sunday at 2am at one of the pubs in town(freaking late on this side of the world), together with the whole of the dept from her work place….What a nice company to work for, her boss even allow the staff who are “being infected” by the world cup virus to come in late for work on monday morning!! Ha!

It was amazing to see our reaction when we got the invitation to join the team….

It is wonderful to see that we, from every different part of the world, longing to live in harmony.

Therefore, I would like to say “Couldn’t say more than this LV”, thanks to open my eyes, that by joining these team, we have completed our goal “unite the world”. 5 years ago

i decided to declare this “done” rather than “i gave up.” he pointed out that by virtue of the fact that i joined the team, i had completed the goal. thanks, taj, i feel much better about my decision now :) 5 years ago

If you click on the I’ve done this button and then click I want to do this again, you will free up the space you are looking for, still remain on the team, have the ability to post here, and continue to support the goal. The list of team members you are doing this with will not, however, continue to appear on your 43T page.

For what it’s worth, my reading of the goal is that you’ve completed it as soon as you join the team. Many people seem to want more added to it, but the answer to “How will we unite the world?” is “By making this team.” 5 years ago

I didn’t fully understand this goal to begin with, but it sounded positive so I figured I’d give it a try. As nothing very useful is coming from it, I’m forfeiting. I think 43things IS a good way to unite people, however. =) 5 years ago

....but i’m going to have to give up on this one. i don’t think i really knew what this goal was all about when i got invited to join the team. i’m having a hard time with this one since there isn’t any concensus right now about how to go about uniting the world. perhaps that is precisely why i should stay, but since i’m not contributing, i think it’s best i graciously step away. i wish all the best to my (former) fellow teammates. i certainly hope the world is united someday under a common, positive goal. (for the record, i vote for soccer/football, too.) 5 years ago

Perhaps we can form other teams that pursue goals that are more tangible?

By the way, HOW does one build a team??? I haven’t been able to figure that out yet…5 years ago
