I’m taking Kevin to Child’s Park. We can up all those steps, walk across the bridges, look at the rivers and waterfalls (maybe if I’m lucky—go for a dip), and try out the old-fashioned water pump. I love that pump because it has the freshest coldest water you have ever tasted and you know it comes straight from the rivers there. It is a little difficult to get flowing since you need upper body strength to push the handle down with great pressure and speed so you can get a real drink…Anyway, they have picnic tables in this one area and that is where I plan to feast! :D

One that springs to mind is Minyon Falls near Byron Bay in northern NSW. It was just beautiful :)
My great-aunt had a tradition with me that for every birthday she would buy us tasty picnic lunchs with sandwiches, chips, and cookies and we could picnic anywhere I liked. One year I chose a graveyard.
Okay, it sounds depressing. But this is a graveyard from the 1800’s which was used by an Irish settlement. It’s on the top of a hill form which you can look all over the countryside. The graves are so old they are practically part of the earth itself. Wild tiger lilies and other flowers creep around the graves and large oak trees reach high above. It’s so peaceful and beautiful there. It’s as if you’re the first person who be temporarily allowed to live in someone else’s private oasis.
It was definitely worth doing.
