At this moment, I’m fluent in English, Dutch, and German, my next goal is to get fluent in Spanish.

I’m unexpectedly moving to Barcelona soon and hate the idea of being one of those foreigners who don’t speak the language. I’ve done a short year’s course and am now brushing up on it on my own, and will take intensive classes once I’m over there. And yes, I know that they speak Catalan not Castillian in Barcelona, but I think I should start small!

I took a couple years of high school in Spanish, and always dreamed of being biligual. Well, after a bunch of years doing other things, I joined the Peace Corps and was assigned The Dominican Republic as my post. Its been 9 months of intense practice and now I’m fluent!
I took 3 years of High school Spanish, now I barely remember anything. Funny thing is I will probably marry a guy who’s last name is Martinez. His Dad’s distant side of the family is fluent in spanish. And I want my kids when I have them to know both English and Spanish.
