Met a lady yesterday who got a MACUL grant to do this. She used Garageband on a Mac to make 5 minute podcasts for science things. They’re basically voiced over Powerpoints. She told me about some free software for capturing Youtubes (videocapture?) and told me how to imbed them in the presentation. Gonna email her, then try it.

I can see where this could help me in my teaching. Still haven’t done it. I need more motivation.
Was working on vodcasting last semester. It stalled a little, but will pick it back up this semester. I’ve got to post at least one.
..and I have the resource to do it, I just have no real idea where to start.
I’ve been getting closer and closer. When I find a concrete use, I will make it happen. I think it can help my students if they are absent, or just want to review my notes. I’ve subscribed to some good ones on itunes.
but it pretty much sucks. It’s pretty much just a boring blog about me…but it is practice, and I need to do it more often. I am also having a few technological barriers, namely computer hardware and a decent mic. Right now I have more important things to spend money on, but 2 or 3 studio mics, a sound mixer and a powerful enough computer to run garageband will do the trick.
