This is one of my five favorite books, and possibly my favorite American novel (I’m an English major). It is absolutely brilliant.

llong is all life force.
I must say this is a tough book. At nearly 600 pages, and written in Ellison’s style, it’s not going to be easy. I’m only on page 200.
I’d like to be done with this book within the week…..fingers crossed!

Now I am to write an essay about this novel. Rather than give my critique here, I may just post my essay when I complete it.

I had a calming warm soak in the tub last night and plowed through a few more pages. Today, I just may do the same thing!

Getting closer… I’d like to finish this novel this weekend, if possible. I’m getting antsy about starting my April “Strong Woman” book: “Anna Karenina”.

I couldn’t do it! Ellison was so suffocating, among other reasons. Although I’ll finish the book, I’m going to be the victim of one of Matt’s movies. I believe he’s pinning my eyelids open to watch “Harry and the Hendersons.”

Matt’s already running his finger along his horrible movie titles trying to pick the most horrid of the horrid movie to make me watch. I’ve devised a plan for getting this all read in one week…3 days before Judgment Day! Ha-ha!
