walk on the beach in winter

I’ve walked on the beach in Brooklyn, NY and in San Diego, CA during the winter months. The ocean is one of the most relaxing sounds in the world to me. It’s definitely worth bundling up and taking a walk on the beach any time of year. In San Diego, CA there’s more people since it’s warmer but in New York you’ll enjoy the quiet solitude that comes with the colder months. Here’s a photo I took on Christmas Day in La Jolla, Ca.

I have been to some beaches in ‘winter’ that were warm enough to swim in, but most of those don’t really have winter but a dry season. I have also been to the south coast in winter and walked on the beach there, but was well rugged up. It’s good, because you can get the whole beach to yourself.

...even nicer is when you go away from it, usually sniffy and cold, and you get somewhere to drink a hot chocolate or a cup of tea…. :-)))
