Learning Coldfusion was pretty simple. It was like learning HTML really. I recommend getting the Macromedia Press book Macromedia Coldfusion Web Application Construction. Plus its like the only book for Coldfusion thats available. I don’t think its one of the best languages in the world. But knowledge is power. We should learn as much as we can.

Coldfusion is persnickity, but it’s a fine language. If you can program in any language, you can program in coldfusion…
of course, if you can program in any language, any other language should be easy.
If you really want to master ColdFusion, learn how “HTTP request/response” works and also start learning SQL. Those are the two key ingredients.
At my office, we work with CF since a few years now. I never had to do much with it yet. But it might be a nice alternation to my sysadmin job and hacking java sucks big times.
I would like to learn more python, too, but we don’t have any projects for that. So CF might be the better choise in the first place.
CF can be a big pain in the toosh and MM doesn’t seem too interested in it…support wise it feels like the black sheep product
