Teaching 1 week ago

I think I have figured out that I want to teach. I am looking into certification programs. Now my only issue is the terrible economy and the news that most school systems in my area will probably be cutting teachers.

I also need to figure out subject area…Spanish, English as a Second Language or Social Studies.

I don’t know what i want to be when i grow up. I just know i want to do something that helps others and i want to get a lot of money.
Getting a lot of money isn’t my main priority it would just be nice to get good money for what i do. All i know is that i don’t want to be any sort of doctor, nurse or anything in the medical field. i also don’t want to be a lawyer or any kind of counselor or any thing that has to do with listening to people’s problems.

i just turned nineteen a few weeks ago, and a few days afterwards everything suddendly came together for me. so i saw this on my list from ages ago and thought i would write about it

since i left school at sixteen, I’ve been studying various things but never with any aim in mind. on my way i’ve tended to make friends from far-away places and find common ground with really easily. Although I didn’t think anything of it at the time, I’ve been looking at degrees and came across international relations and couldn’t believe I hadn’t thought of it before. I read out the course to a friend and they were overcome with how suited I would be to it. (okay i sound really boastful). Then I looked back on my photography refernce from my teacher and he mentioned how patient I was with my classmate who had broken english and…!

Most courses are politically focused but there are some with a more cultural and art-based. I don’t have enough points to get into some of the universities I’m considering, but I can use this year to make sure my qualifications are relevent and take my time going to open days etc.

Before I wanted to do too many things at once, now I have a main focus for the moment. And I can still write, teach, make movies, become a tatoo artist, all those other things too, if I want.. and i still do these things.
for now though.
:)
