Start my own greeting card business

I love making other people happy through greeting cards so I would like to start a greeting card business, I was thinking maybe a few other people who like writing and creating greeting cards maybe we can all join in and work together making our dreams come true. i am currently trying to make my own line of greeting cards….i decided to start with a small line of about 10 cards from a personal perspective…i am doing most of the my writing and designing….i am trying to figure out sources for funding, advertisements, and manufacturing(production).....anybody have any ideas or want to share? you share your ideas and i will share mine….email is flower_maya@hotmail.com

I really think I could do this. I may have to free lance but would rather have my own line. I’ve written a few cards(not published)I just have to get them out there.

i just don’t have the time to do this right now.

it doesn’t look financially feasible in the short term either. boo!

but i made cards for all my friends.

saturday morning: wrote computer program to make funky abstract patterns
saturday afternoon: made set of funky abstract patterns that vaguely look christmas like
sunday morning: print funky abstract patterns that vaguely look christmas like using new shiny printer
sunday afternoon place funky abstracr patterns that vaguely look christmas like using new shiny printer into named envelopes and save until christmas food (mmm. next weekend)

so i’ve got myself lots of info on starting a business (http://www.bgateway.com/), and i’m learning ruby on rails for the website. i’ve got designs from friends and family, and contact details to several shops.

phew. now enough preparation, and to the hard bit. doing.
