I am officially going to the MD, for an official appointment.
I’m calling today.
I ran yesterday. Today I wake up with the same darn pain in my leg. I did not overdo it, so I imaigne there is something structurally wrong with it. I’m so sad, and frustrated, and starting to think that running is bad for me…
:(

actually 2.10 miles, but whatever.
left legs feels healed, but very very tight compared to the right leg. Seems to have healed with a little less flexibility which actually seems to add stability to my ankle, so now I’m wondering if I should do it to the right leg too….(think not).
glad to be back moving again. Probably bump it up to 3 tomorro since I seem to have done fine with that pace.

Must go into the gym after a weeks abscence.
planning to only so a short run….
hoping I won’t feel disappointed as I know my conditioning is down….
must learn to be satisfied with what I have, 2 functional legs….very important.

Osteopath. One of our residents is an Osteopath. He “adjusted” my left leg yesterday. Now, generally, I think most ofthis is “voodoo medicine” and I’m not all about it, but I am sooo tired of the pain. Well. He did something called pedal pumps, as well as a bit of stretching.
the pain went away. Some of it returned, but not all of it. My leg seems to feel a lot different. Now, when this fever/sorethroat/body aches thing goes away, we will see…..

it was a good run. i took it a lot slower than I have been going and was able to maintain a better pace. relatively little pain in the leg. Nice nice nice.
I feel great. woiuld have gone longer, but had to get off and go toan appointment.

for me to try to add milage. I’d love to do 7-8 miles, but I’ll be happy if I can do five…right now, I want to go back to sleep….

will be three by tomorro, as I just can not run after working all day. (I work 12 hr shifts and stand most of the time…the other part of the time I’m walking).
Hopefully this break will help to heal the poor left leg and allow it to work better….on tuesday. A very special day indeedy.

Ran 3.9 miles today. Very unpleasant, hot in the gym, lost 5 pounds of water, which has got to be sort of a record for me…either that or there is a subtle difference between the scale there and the one at home.
actually made it 3.7 miles then got off, did crunches, and then got back on and ran 2 very fast minute to make up the other 3 tenths.
well it is longer…not feeling stronger or faster or more efficient.
total milage 11.55ish. dont know how much I covered when I ran outside.

reflections on running
by Ross Himona
On a warm sunny day, I run
through sun filled valley,
bathed in the healing glow of Ranginui,
ancestral Sky Father.
In a southerly storm I run the hills:
gale rain lashed, Thunder growled,
Lightning flash-warned;
at play with Tawhirimatea, ancestral cousin,
God of the Winds.
I run the sea shore
serene in calm stillness,
powerful in mighty display;
in all the moods of Tangaroa,
Cousin God of the Oceans.
I run with all the children
of Tane, procreator of humankind
God of the mighty forests,
ancestral shelter, provider.
My feet caress the soft gentle skin
of Papatuanuku, Earth Mother;
and I am enfolded by Her,
in love.
I run in an Inner World,
led there by Tane-te-wananga;
he who ascended the upper realms
to Tikitiki-o-rangi the Uppermost,
gained there for all mankind
three baskets of knowledge
from Io-Matua,
Parent of all that there is
in this and in every realm.
I run with Maui-tikitiki-a-Taranga,
Trickster Shaman.
We play, adventure, seek challenge;
pit ourselves against ourselves,
and all who would play with us.
With Maui I laugh at the World.
I run the hills and valleys and shores
where once the Earthly ancestors ran,
bathed in the spiritual fire
that once bathed them;
and still does.
I run from Te Korekore, Potential,
Womb of all Creation
whence Universe birthed itself,
through Te Po, long darkness of Unfolding,
to Te Whai-ao, first glimmer of dawn,
into Te Ao Marama, bright light of day;
Universe revealed.
I discover the Universe
of Io-Matua-Kore the Parentless
And I discover myself.

First outside run in a while. Not fast, but good.
