the tattoo i want (have been settled on for SOME TIME NOW) is ridiculously reminiscent of a combinattion of the two tattoos that my bf’s ex has. uncanny…in a bad way! so i dunno.
deets:
i want (on the front or back of my shoulder) a birdy on a branch with with words “go, go, go, said the bird,” which is from t.s.eliot’s poem “burnt norton,” one of his four quartets. the thing is that she has (a) a tattoo of a bird (the one that flies across the screen in the middle of sgt. pepper) on her forearm, and (b) a tattoo across her back that says “human kind cannot bear too much reality,” a t.s.eliot quotation from the SAME POEM. in fact, here is how a certain part of the poem goes:
Go, said the bird, for the leaves were full of children,
Hidden excitedly, containing laughter.
Go, go, go, said the bird: human kind
Cannot bear very much reality.
Time past and time future
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present.
what should i do??? i want my tat!!!
