Baby Steps! 19 months ago

I’ve now familiarized myself (somewhat) with the FlyLady system and feel a bit lucky. Since my kitchen remodel hasn’t quite finished, it will be a breeze to keep the sink shiny lol! In seriousness, I spent the weekend developing draft morning and evening routines which I’ll live with and perfect during the coming week. And a tentative daily focus: Mon-laundry; Tues-Desk Day; Wed-Errand Day; Thurs-Home Blessing Day; & Fri reserved for my volunteer work & grocery shopping. AND, I’m going to use the weekly zones as zones to complete the remodel project. So this week it’ll be the kitchen.(Although on “Desk Day” I’ll include phone calls and follow up for the other parts of the house.) This seems like a workable system. Although there are a lot of e-mails…



Developing a Strategy 19 months ago

First of all, I am going to HAVE to be somewhat organized to tackle all my other Things To Do! How should I do this? Well, I am going to try the system developed by Fly-Lady. My neighbor swears by it. It sounds like something my mother would do and, since I’m old enough to be a grandmother, that’s saying a lot! (heh, heh, heh to anyone who thinks all “seniors” have their lives organized) When I was working, my life was organized. Now that I’m retired it’s become a bit scattered. This may sound weird, but I want to be organized enough to be spontaneous.

So, this week I am going to develop the “nightly routine” and “morning routine” so I can go on auto-pilot and be prepared for the day. And I will try, but no promises, to set up a daily focus. And there is also something about “zones” in your house that you focus on each week. I need to check and see if other members are using this system.



Getting up early 2 years ago

By this i mean during the week i need to get up at 7 am sharp when my alarm first sounds. I think i can do this by going to bed on time at 11 8 hours is more then long enough.



Goals 2 years ago

I think I can acomplish this goal. I have a lot going on but I think if I start getting up earlier, sleeping earlier, and watching less tv I can get more done. I dont have the internet at home so that helps.

I want to get my life organized. So…. I joined a challenge on the web site The Change Your Life Challenge. It is a program of 70 days to organizing every aspect of your life to save one’s sanity! I am on Day 19 and going strong!
