to encompass more than date nights. Paco enjoys a good meal, having his feet rubbed, getting his back cracked – there are many aspects to cherishing each other. Paco had a tough week at school and Max woke up in the night several times so we both took extra care of each other to get through the week.

was so nice! I persuaded Paco to stay home instead of work. I made a huge breakfast. It was hot and sunny with the perfect amount of shade in our front yard. We spent most of the day outside reading, playing and lazing around! We watched Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium which was wonderful! For some reason the line [from Mr. Magorium to his apprentice Natalie Portman] “Your life is an occasion. Rise to it.” got me all teary-eyed. Max was a calm, funny, playful, sweet little love monkey all day. Not a formal “date” but we just had so much fun altogether yesterday, woo!

So our evening babysitting arrangement fell through at the last minute. My beautiful, resourceful, resilient husband said he would cancel his work for Monday if I could get the day off. My fabulous, supportive boss said “no problem” to my vacation-day request! We are good to go! After we saw Max off to kindergarten this morning we went out to breakfast. Then we caught the first matineĆ© of “Iron Man”! Wow, the movie was great! And we had a great time hooting at the good parts! Then we went to my favorite paper store – then it was time to pick Max up from school. It was fun to have goof-off time together! I’m grateful to Paco for suggesting the “fix” and grateful for the light-hearted fun we had!
