be a photographer for National Geographic

After completed my graduation I done a Digital Photography course and Photojournalism course.Now I am a freelance photographer taking events, wedding etc.Now i would like to be a photographer for National Geography.

ive always wanted to be a photographer for the national geographic,im almost finished college…...when i do ill be a trained photographer…..

Ever since i was a little girl my grandma would get me the National Geographic magizines because i loved the beautiful pictures they held inside. Every photo has an adventure written deep within its beautiful array of colors. I so envy those photographers who have dedicated themselves to picture taking. About a year ago i finally got myself a camera and began taking pictures. i told my highschool art teacher id like nothing more than to take pictures for the National Geographic. Im currently taking a photography class and im not bad i do have decient skills that im working to improve. Im a senior at knoxville high located in Knoxville, IA. I want to proove to the world that a small nobody can rise above all the doubt and bring the world to the people who want to see the world but cant get out to do it. I want to inspire.

I want to do this, but i still have to graduate high school. idont know what they want , college wise??

I would LOVE to become a photographer for NG! Having my own studio is rewarding but travel photography is my PASSION.

This was my dream since the first time I laid eyes on a National Geographic issue. We couldn’t even afford to buy magazines. Our wonderful neighbor would give us each issue after he read them each month. I adored those issues. I still have a few packed away somewhere at my mom’s house. This was my biggest dream since I was a little girl. One day. =)

Last year, I had the opportunity to work on photo essays and even go back to the Angkor Photo Festival. I’m sort of proud my flickr is not cluttered with pictures of my dog or food.

My next step for this year is to compile a book or portfolio by June.

Sent in my application and contact sheets last week.
Now I’m just waiting.
I wonder what the competition is to get these positions?

I’ve been offered an opportunity to intern with Geographic Canada.
