After 15 years married we never went on a honeymoon. My wife and I need it. Tips on how to save enough money are welcome. We married at the age of 19. Yes, we were too young. We still happy together.

How to go on a honeymoon

 "A "honeymoon" cruise vacation, two years after the wedding. "
How I did it: We hadn't had the money for a real honeymoon after our wedding (we'd gone on a camping trip instead and got rained out) I felt it didn't quite count as a honeymoon and wanted to go on a "real" one. Well, we ended up getting invited to go on a cruise with the in-laws but it was different than vacations we've been on with them in the past. We had our own cabin (with no windows several floors away and on the other side of the ship from where they were), did our own thing for at least part of most days, and had a lot of fun. We sunned ourselves on the ship, toured Mayan ruins, swam in a Guatemalan waterfall, tubed in a Belizian cave river, ate too much food, and successfully haggled with vendors at shops. Neither one of us got seasick, and we loved the rocking motion of the ship. I hope to go on many more vacations with my husband but I think that my dream of having a real "honeymoon" has been fulfilled even though it was two years after we were married and a little nontraditional since we were travelling with family.

I just booked our plane tickets for our honeymoon and am so excited! We have a stop in Hong Kong so we will aslo get a tiny taste of China. Hubby and I eloped while on vacation last year and though we had the intention of having a ceremony for friends and family- that ended up falling through so we decided that we would use the money for a honeymoon.
This is the first time either of us is traveling to South East Asia. It’s also a graduation treat for me and a pre-studies trip for him. (He will be starting on his masters this fall.)

My passport is in the mail! I’ve been obsessively checking the State Department website for the status of my passport ever since my husband got his. I just couldn’t believe he received his before I did. I am much more impatient than he is; therefore, I need to get mine first.
My second bit of good news, I reserved a hotel in Paris. It’s called the Hotel Splendid Etoile. What does Etoile mean?
Anyway, it’s gorgeous. Well based on the pics on the hotel’s website, it’s gorgeous. See for yourself.

So I know lots of people have been waiting ages to get their passports issued. But my husband got his in 2 months, no big whoop.
What I don’t get is I sent in my passport for a name change at the same time he sent in his application for a new one. You would think mine would get processed faster. Oh well, still 3 months before the trip and I’m feeling confident that I’ll receive my passport soon.

Ryan and I were married last Saturday the 16th and just got back yesterday from our honeymoon. We spent the week in Orlando, Florida. We rented the cutest car, went to SeaWorld, Universal Studios, GatorLand, Ripley’s Odditorium, and the largest Hard Rock Cafe in the world! We had so much fun together. Just what we needed after all the preperation for our big day!
