How to wax...down there.
How I did it: The best part of waxing anywhere is no itchy razor stubble. I bought a microwave safe wax pot, waxing sticks and cloth strips at a beauty supply place. Just heat the wax till fairly runny, spread thin on the area (carefully!) press and gently rub the strip down on the wax and rip!! After all is said and done, use lotion or aloe gel to calm irritation and red bumps. I usually wax a day or 2 before I 'need' it, so my skin can heal. My armpits, on the other hand, are so well 'trained' I'm ready to go within hours.
I can now proudly say that after about a year or so of committed 'landscaping' my hair in that area has thinned out very much and eventually will not need waxed anymore.
Lessons & tips: Make sure the area is dry, a little baby powder can help. If you're hair is kinda long there, it is important to trim it down to about half to one inch in length, otherwise you can't get a clean rip and the hair gets tangled. Always apply the wax in the direction of the hair growth, and pull it off in the opposite direction. Pull quickly, parallel to the skin, no exceptions. If the wax does not come off the skin with the strip, it may be too cold, or your skin may be to warm. Wax in a cool, dry place when you can. Reheat the wax if necessary. Hold the skin taught before removing the strip, this can lessen the chance of bruising or worse. If some hair just will not come out after the second or third try, don't keep waxing. Sometimes you get a few aggressive/too short hairs, either tweeze or shave them. If you are prone to very dry, scaly skin, moisturize the day before, very dry skin can make waxing very painful.
NEVER use strips that come pre-waxed, they are not effective! Apply the wax yourself, or have a professional do it for you.
