brush my cat

loki doesn’t mind being brushed one bit except for his kitty pants (or well thighs). it really upsets him so i don’t know if his skin is more sensitive there or what. he loves his armpits brushed so i don’t know why not the pants.his pants are all matted up and i just want to attack the little guy with a brush.

is beacuse my cat sheds like crazy. once i begin the brushing it never ends. at least he likes it?

well i have found my ideal tactic for getting the knots without him getting me.
the tactic? surprise! pretend i’m going over there just to pet the old boy and then BAM! brush brush brush.
doing that today i got most of it out, i’m happy and i know he’s going to be happy being able to lick his fur without chunks all in the way.

last night i managed to brush the right side of gizmo and got all the knots out. the whole side! may sound dorky but i’ve never been able to do it before without a battle wound.
i think the easiest way so far for me is to surprise him with it. i acted like i was just petting and then BAM! brushing. it took him about 30 seconds but it was 30 seconds i got away with it.
mua ha ha!
today i will attempt conquering the left side. it has the most knots and they are all close to biting range.
whew…i’m nervous. ;)

gizmo is so furry, and so cranky it doesn’t really mesh. i need to brush him, but i’d also like to keep my own skin from being bitten. he bites, claws, hisses, growls, you name it.
about two days ago i tried to brush him and wrap a towel around him to prevent getting attacked, that really didn’t go over well.
i bought this spray that is said to “detangle” so maybe i won’t have to brush him, but i don’t know i think it’s kinda wishy washy.
any advice anyone?

He is always wiggling and trying to get away. I will just stick with petting my cat for now.

he is a never-ending ball of fur

My cat was dropping hair all over the house due it being time to loose his coat and grow a new fluffy under coat and long overcoat for winter. I got him furball biscuts in the vain hope he wouldn’t spew up hairballs on the carpet and tried to brush of his loose fur before letting up on the bed. He liked the food, spews where he pleases and bit the hand that feeds and tried to brush him so he lives outside for few days now!

Great goal. I also want to start brushing my cat nightly. To reduce hair around the house and to keep him healthy and happy. He’s the white one..
