How I did it: I took a 8 week long toastmasters course where we worked through material and wrote speeches each week. We got guest speakers in and got different speech topics. We had table topics each week which teaches one to speak without preparation about an unknown topic and think on your feet.
Lessons & tips: * Don't think twice just sign up
* It's only 8 weeks try not miss a session...
* Don't be nervous - it's nowhere near as nerve wrecking as you think

My next speech is next Wednesday. My project is number 5 in the manual – Your Body Speaks. My speech topic is going to be on the benefits of Kettlebells. Now I have to figure out how I am going to remain in the 5 – 7 minute time frame.

I bought a video camcorder for the Toastmasters Club today. We can use this to film members speeches. This is an amazing tool that will really help those members who choose to use it improve their communication abilities at a much faster pace then normal.

I am currently in a Toastmasters Club and I was just elected the President this year. Toastmasters has really helped me to communicate to groups of people. In fact…on Monday we had our Quarterly Employee Meeting and Monthly sales meeting. My boss got sick at the last minute and I had to take it over. Without Toastmasters there is no way that I could have done that. It was smooth sailing though.
I’ve joined Toastmasters some months ago. Up to now, I have won two “Best Table Topics” awards and I have given my Icebreaker speech. The folks are very nice and kind, I enjoy meeting them!
I attended one tonight. I learned a lot and was asked to speak on two occassions. =)
I still need to look for the right club/chapter though as the age gap between me and this particular group is a bit wide.
Got a list of Toastmasters club near my place and I am going to attend one today. I was told by the person on the phone to get a feel of the different toastmasters first and stay with the one I’d be most comfortable in.
I joined Toastmasters about three years ago. Having done stand-up speaking before a group of people doesn’t bother me. I joined for the competition. If you do have a fear of speaking, or simply want to gain confidence in your everyday interactions Toastmasters is great. I suggest you find a local meeting and go as a guest. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
