go camping once a month

Santa brought us a new tent. We can’t wait to try it out!

Unfortunately, I’m working on the weekends this month and last. We will do our best to do a trip in August, maybe to the Smokey’s or Nantahala.

May’s trip – We’re a bit slow in getting ourselves together, but hopefully we’ll make it two months in a row.

Today the high was 29 degrees, but I thought I’d still reopen this goal because I need to get outdoors more. I highly doubt we will actually camp until March though.

So, I got called for a liver transplant this week. Yay! Anyway, by the time I recover enough to think about camping it will be midwinter, so I will put this on hold until next spring.

Maybe we can sneak a camping trip in early November. This is just so frustrating….

So, we packed up the car this weekend and were just fixing to head out. We called our friend who was coming with us and he still wasn’t ready. He couldn’t find his tent, he had no food, and he wanted to get back early Sat. evening. So, we ended up not going and DH and him just went caving on Saturday. I was so mad!

But, now I have penciled in camping dates into our calendar with DH. And, next time we’re going irregardless. If friends want to come, fine, but I’m not going to wait around for them.

Since it’s been around 105 every day for the past 2 or 3 weeks we haven’t done much outdoors. DH said it was too hot to camp, but we did “camp” in the backyard Sunday night and watch the meteors. Very pretty.

So, as soon as the temps come down a little we’ll try again. I’m eyeing what weekends might be free already.

We’re finally getting ourselves together this weekend. We’re going to the Savage Gulf area to watch the Persied Meteor Shower. I can’t wait!
