Finally it’s done. I’m just waiting to get my insurance cards. Paying the premium every month will be tough but I’ll find a way.Slowly these problems are starting to go away. I guess my husband will have to find something new to complain about.

Ok I just need to come up with 859.00 for the first months premium and I’m good. This is crazy. If I invested that 859 each month I would have plenty to cover my health needs. I hate my state.
Well I contacted the health insurance company and had them send me all the info and forms. I picked a plan and have filled out all the paperwork except for a couple of spaces I need to look info up. Then I need to get 850.00 together for the first months premium and mail everything in by Aug 6. I can’t believe I have to pay 10,200 a year for health coverage.
They approved me. No more worries. My bill is about 20 times less than when I was on COBRA. What a relief.
There’s a great insurance plan for anyone who lives in Maryland and their COBRA runs out or they’ve been denied coverage. Check out http://www.marylandhealthinsuranceplan.state.md.us/ for more information. They have yet to approve me, but I’m confident that this will work out.
Getting health insurance is difficult because I am a higher risk to companies as an obese person! Blech! I have about a month and a half to get some kind of insurance. Part of me feels like pulling my hair out!
Okay, I finally called my insurance agent and got him to switch me to a plan that costs a little less and covers a little more. It’s still a high deductible HSA-qualified plan, which is fine for me because I’m never sick. It covers your yearly exam, and the rest I can use my HSA account for. I need to open one of those now…
I’m paying for my own health insurance. I have catastrophic coverage—just for emergencies. The rest I have to pay out of pocket. I haven’t been to a doctor in almost a year.
I pay $115/month for $2400 deductible. After the deductible, I have 100% coverage. This seemed like a good idea when I signed up for it—if I were hospitalized for a million dollars, I could put $2400 on a credit card and the insurance would deal with the rest.
But now I’m thinking I’d better find something cheaper, even if it’s a copay type of thing. I’m seeing quotes online for $60/month for a $1500 deductible with a 20% copay. I’ll keep in mind that if I were hospitalized for a million dollars, I would owe like $200,000.
I’d like to find something that would cover regular checkups so I could at least go to a doctor or a dentist. As it is, I choose not to because I can find more important things to do with my money. I’m so confused.
