I have school loan baggage and old credit drama that haunts me. We are renting a home in a FABULOUS neighborhood at the moment and get a bit envious when I go to friends’ houses- this neighborhood is fabulous for gorgeous affordable historic homes, and I would love to get into a position to buy, but this will take some hardcore creditcleanup.

Up to a “good” rating by Experian! woo hoo! i am going to try to refinance my car and get a better interest rate; therefore, a lower monthly payment.

I’m on my way! I checked my credit rating yesterday and I was at a Fair rating! Woohoo!
So I was watching the sue ormand show, and she said that you should never close an old account. She says when you do close an account…your debt to income ratio gets smaller, thus lowering your credit score. I was very close to closing 2 accounts, but after watching that, I decided to keep them open and reap all the benefits I can from them.
So last Saturday I was at Best Buy and I fell into temptation. I bought a 40” TV. It was 1500 dollars. With all the accessories it was close to 2 grand for it all, which went right onto my WaMu card. This puts me into debt much much further than I had wanted. I will be getting my bonus check soon which will help a lot with that.
Right now I still have 5 credit cards. I just got a new Washington Mutual card with a 2300 limit and so that freed up some room to get rid of 2 more cards. I have 3 store cards left that I am going to get rid of once I pay them off. I don’t think that credit has ever been better. Do you think it’s time to get that Amex card????? :)
I have always wanted good credit. I thought good credit was having as many credit cards as possible. Quite the opposite. I, at one time, had 13 credit cards. Any time I received one of those credit card offers in the mail, I would apply for it. I have always paid them off in time, but the interest just added up. So I decided it was time to do some house cleaning. I got rid of most of my cards. I am currently down to 5 credit cards. I am looking to get rid of 3 more and bring it down to 2 cards. I eventually want to replace one of my cards (chase) with an american express card. I figured that would be the best way to go. Please, any tips for getting an american express card would be awesome, as well as anything that has to do with improving my credit! Thanks :)
I recently paid of my credit card and in a couple of months will have my debt with a former apartment complex paid off. And I haven’t aquired any new debts! After all my current debts are paid I’m thinking about getting a car loan and buying a new car…
I have finally paid off my credit card. I was in debt $1000 on it. And it’s completely paid off. Now I have to pay off around $500 in debt on a past apartment and I’ll be debt free. I’m paying off the apartment complex this month. Then I’m thinking about getting a car loan later this year…that should boost my credit even more. :)
