How I did it: Took kick boxing with a personal trainer. Trained three times a week. Of course, there is definitely a lot more that I could learn so I will continue training by myself now that I'm back at the university. Read how I did it…
How I did it: This goal is very "unclear". I'm going to now define it as "start learning a martial art". I did a few years of BJJ and I love it. Now, I am restating a new goal: get a black belt in BJJ (will take years, as I'm still a white!). Need more dedication now! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I actually only took taekwondo for a month. I liked learning the form we were working on. I quit because I had other things going on and the class was structured in a way that was uncomfortable to me... unorganized yet formal? In summary, it doesn't look like marital arts are for me, but I still find them very interesting. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I've always wanted to do some form of martial arts but I never motivated myself to do it. I ended up being busy with college and having no time. After college I wanted to try new things, and having a friend who does martial arts was encouraging for me. I did some research online by using Google about different martial art styles and also what was available in my area. I eventually came across Bujinkan and read more information about it… Read how I did it…

I’m plannning to start to learn it soon! Hope I can carry on and never give up. That’s the most important thing!
Started doing Taekwondo and am enjoying it, there’s a grading in a month or so’s time so if i pass that i’m going to call it a success.
katyusha_ is working on it...
I’ve been taking Judo and Long Fist for the last couple of months now. I’m enjoying learning how to strike in Kung Fu, but I’m really enjoying the Judo overall.
Radisauris is going to try to take care of alot of stuff today.
Ok I totally stopped working on this. I got really busy and lazy. But the truth is i really didn’t enjoy the dojo that much. It was very hard for me to make myself go because i didn’t have much fun there. I don’t think it was the people. It might have to do with the distance and everyone else there was a lot more competive then me. Gotta find a new dojo but i am not giving up on this.

I’m 6’6”, 300lb. I’m not strong and have difficulties just moving about. The reason I want to learn a martial art is to be healthier and learn to be disciplined.
I was going to give up this goal, but I just couldn’t. I’m glad I didn’t give it up.
Yesterday I finally went to the san-da class AGAIN. I had a good time there.
I think I have to adjust my lifestyle to make me able to attend the classes. This thought makes me feel bad, I mean, I have to adjust my whole week activities to be able to go to the 2-hour-a-week class. But I guess I’d better do that. I liked exercise so much when I was healthy and active, and now I still love exercise. I have to do my best to reach this goal.
Reduce other activities and even spend less time reading books if necessary. Do exercise every day but be careful not go too far. And such.
We all know how to be healthier, we just lack the motivation. Busy life and bad health drag us back again and again. Well…don’t give up!
I’ve skipped 2 classes.
It was fun to learn San-da and I consider it a mild exercise. Most of the students there are office workers. They exercise only once a week there. So we spend one hour just to warm up and another hour to adjust our poses. Do kicking and punching by ourselves. No match fights.
But I’m still unable to attend classes every week. I’m so disappointed. A friend of mine said I should try yoga instead of san-da. But I like dancing and kicking & punching more.

So after moving away from my old school. I decided to try something different and went along to Krav Maga class. Very different from what I’m used to but I really enjoyed it.
Very sore now though
