I’ve lived in Raleigh for almost 3 years and I haven’t been to one museum here, how pathetic is that!

    Incredible 15 months ago

That is the word that comes to mind to describe my experience at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I was absolutely in awe of this place. Definitely a place to visit again and again. No doubt in my mind I will be going back!!

Not sure which museum is next on my list. I am torn between the major players know as the Whitney and the Guggenheim. Or going to Ellis Island or the South Street Seaport. Any suggestions???

One down, many more to go... 16 months ago

Went to the American Museum of Natural History on Saturday. It is an amazing place and a great way to spend an afternoon. Even the subway stop is beautiful with mosaics of wildlife adorning the walls. Next on my list is the other side of Central Park, the Metropolitan Mueseum of Art.

Groninger Museum - Russian fairytales 21 months ago

Visiting museums still isn’t a weekly, or even two weekly, activity, as I would like it to be. But, last Friday I went to my second exhibition this year. It showed paintings and drawings of Russian Fairytales. Especially the drawings were beautiful, I would really have like one for on the wall at home :D

Bahia Museum of Art 21 months ago

“On Avenida 7 de Setembro is the Bahia Museum of Art (Museu de Arte de Bahia), which since 1943 has been housed in a mansion formerly belonging to the Goes Calmon family. The Museum’s collections include furniture, silver and azulejos from colonial Bahia, Chinese porcelain and pictures by modern Bahian artists.”

Museum Rodin Bahia 21 months ago

Some years ago, there was a exposition with the Rodin pieces in Brazil and here in Salvador was the city with more sucess. So, now there is a Rodin Museum here. All the Rodin pieces didn’t come yet (there are only four in the garden). But the guys told me it’ll happen in April and I wanna be there again. By now, we could see the old palacium that a family lived almost 100 years ago and another modern building with brazilian paintings.
The picture is of my 3 friends in the living room. I loved all the stories the guy told us. It’s curious how the people lived in the same place of us but so much time ago.
(Unfortunatly I didn’t find a good description about this museum, coz it is very new)

    Barcelona 1900 22 months ago

On January 2nd I went to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, together with two friends. They had a special exhibition about Barcelona around 1900, with not only paintings, but furniture and jewellery, too. It was a great show, I really liked it, very detailed information and a lot of objects were shown. I really liked that you got a ‘travel guide’ at the beginning, giving information about Barcelona and all the objects you saw. I’m very happy I went!

I’ve been to a few in my city.
    good times.

I love my city! 2 years ago

Today I visited Royal Private Apartments of our Royal Castle in Cracow. I was actually going to tour another museum, recently opened, but it was a kind of “open day” with free entrance, and the very long queue has formed. So I chose Wawel Castle and I have to say, that it was wonderful morning. We had own guide for only 10 people – many, many interesting informations. And of course extremely beautiful interiors, feeling of the distant past, small time journey. I’m really glad, that I picked up this goal, that’s not the last entry here, I’m sure.
