stop dressing like a homeless person..because I have a home.

Everyone dresses like there homeless. As long as I’m clean and comfortable, I’m good.

Friday night, I bought some new sneakers. Had a pickle of a time finding shoes in my size. Thank goodness for Nordstroms Rack.

and almost added it as a joke because I thought it was so funny. But today I went to a goverment job bank type place. I found the building but I couldn’t find the office. I was talking to a lady and telling her what I was looking for. I don’t know if it was my look or if I just didn’t make myself clear because she said, “Well. if you go down the hall there’s a place that you can stay until you get back on your feet.” She said it in a pleasant, respectful tone. So pleasant and respectful it didn’t really click until 4 hours later that SHE THOUGHT I WAS HOMELESS! Why?? I had showered, put on clean clothes, deodorant, brushed my teeth and braided my hair.

I have almost always been known for wearing jeans and t-shirts. I just like being comfortable. Also I’ve been making a greater effort to dress down because of the neighborhood I’m staying in. I guess I’ve been dressing to far down but here’s an example of why:

A few hours ago, a man was asking strangers on the street for money. When one lady said “no” he ask her for her necklace. They were standing right behind me. I thought I was about to witness a robbery but she simply told him “no” again and went on her way.

Geesh!
