If ocean acidification takes its toll, the Great Barrier Reef might one day be a thing of the past.
I don’t want to miss out on experiencing this beautiful Reef.
How I did it: I went to Australia and took the trip. You go stay at one of the Whitsunday Islands and they let you book tours out there. If you're a certified diver, you can scuba dive as well.
Lessons & tips: You'll get better pictures on sunny days, but the experience is amazing either way.

I had a dream about doing this the other night and now it’s totally a “real” dream to visit Australia!
I took a snorkeling class at camp and it was awesome and so seeing all the fish and colors on the reef would be heaven!!!

Definitely something I want to do in this lifetime!!!

I’ve wanted to do this ever since I was in middle school. I sent away for a bunch of free touristy brochures back then and I remember getting a huge packet about “Visiting Australia”. The pictures of the reef and the fish and all just blew me away. I’ll get there someday…..
Oh the Great Barrier Reef is gorgeous. All the colors of the fish and the reef. The boat ride out was interesting to say the least. Memorable. Very memorable. Oh and I even saw a little shark.
the most amazing thing was all the different colours of the fish and the coral, and we stayed swimming for ages because it was so amazing, even though it was freezing!
i was 17 and the weather was overcast so my snorkel kept filling up with water but when i dove down the view was breathtaking and it was so quiet. there was some kind of animal/fish/whatever below the scared me a little as it crept closer and closer showing how large in size it really was but there were scuba-divers entertaining it so i kept close to the coral and other smaller fish taking pics of everything!! they turned out beautifully!!
One of the most serene and beautiful moments of my life – I highly recommend it!
