Well, I finally used up the pad of post-its I dedicated to this Thing, so yay!

nightridergirl is working on my life goals
This is a note for anyone who wishes to read it. THen you can send it on just like bookcrossing.com does with books. Thank you,

I put a note on a random post office box. It said “have a nice day” and on the back I wrote, “now put this on someone else’s random box to brighten their day too!”. I wonder if it will be there tomorrow.

This is such a great idea to spread a little fun into people’s lives when they least expect it. I don’t know what the notes will say yet but I like to think someone might get a laugh out of them, or at least have their day brightened.
Post-it notes are now added to the purse load!

Nothing specific. Just saying Hi and have a good day. I usually do them when I’m bored and/or tired. Oh and one which I stuck to a beer matt which read “SMILE :)” That was it. Random.

I left one on a Love Heart shaped sticky note that I bought from The British Heart Foundation on the edge of the map table in the Reg last night around closing time. I spread the love. I just put “Have a good one! Love Me n B.” It was random. I have decided to make all future ones on love heart shaped sticky notes, if I can buy more, and probably try n leave better messages to bring a whole new meaning of spreading the love… It’s fun!
I stuck one on Alex’s back the other week. But he’s strange and not a stranger so he doesn’t count LOL. He continued to wear it on the zipper to his trousers for most of the evening… sad individual that he is… I tagged most of my friends with love hearts that night actually and they returned the love by covering my top in the sticky hearts… My friends and I are strange :) but it’s fun to be random!
I have a few packs of post-its that I have saved for this. Every time I borrow a book or movie - whether from the library or just from a friend - I stick a post-it with a short note on it inside. Some are inspirations, others are goofy, but all are, at most, a short sentence.
I’ve been doing this lately, more for my own evil glee than for the betterment of society. Hopefully they’re spreading paranoia, or at least mindfulness, or producing a chuckle or two.
Some of my favorites, so far, are:
“There is no friend anywhere.”
“There is no enemy anywhere.”
“Who is More Trustworthy Than All the Buddhas and Sages ??”
“Look behind you.”
and “Ignore this sign—BY LAW!”
Most of them are Robert Anton Wilson’s fault.
These notes (all computer-printed to maintain secrecy) have gone into library books, on bus seats, under mouses in computer labs, on the walls in school hallways, and many, many other places.

I just wrote my first real random note to a stranger. I just have to “post it” if you will.
While writing it I felt an odd sort of excitement knowing that in doing so I am reaching out and speaking to someone I might never really speak to.
Now for the method of “posting”- while the writing of such a note comes relatively easily and there’s so much I could have written from “hi” to my whole life story the posting has been the tough bit in deciding.
Then this begs the question do I sign it with my real name or a pen name?? Or perhaps leave it blank. For this particular note i left it blank- although seen as it’s not yet been posted I suppose there’s still time to leave my mark.
So, I basically plan on buying a book from a charity shop- as I often do when I want something to read and then pop my large post it note inconspicuously inside the book on a random page and then return it to the place I purchased it from.

Ok, so i think post it notes count. I left a note to my mam this morning LOL tho she isn’t a random stranger. I wrote yet another note to a lecturer randomly and popped it in her pigeonhole but again not random.
Must try to be more spontaneous! lol… hmmmmmmmm… i might try leaving one at a bus stop :P hehehe. maybe i should write it ahead of time and make sure that it’s only small so it doesn’t cause any damage to the environment. Then again maybe that’s littering… or a good kind of littering. Maybe if i left it in a building that wouldn’t be so bad????
Ooooo i could put one in someones locker- this i have probably already said. Ooooo here’s a thought… on a whiteboard at college. I could put a message. Last week i randomly drew a fish on the board in my english room before i left and left it there… i coloured it and everything. MY THAT MAKES ME LOOK SAD.
Hmmm any ideas greatly appreciated :P
