Prettyshy Just came back from work, chilling!
How I did it: As funny as it may sound, I learned to speak fluent Spanish by just speaking! I would just hold things up to my mom and say "whats this called?" and she'd say it in Spanish, and then I just practice it. I also just watch T.v shows in Spanish, with subtitles. It really helped! and soon I learned to read and write. All you have to do is speak and practice! Read how I did it…
How I did it: My sister started learning Spanish first, and she would teach me as she learned. I picked up the basics that way, then decided to try for Spanish classes. In December 2008 I spent 2 weeks in Mexico visiting my sister, who now lives there, and was able to understand and speak with complete ease. Read how I did it…

I can speak conversational Spanish, but I really want to become a fluent speaker. I really want to live in a Spanish speaking country. I don’t have any friends who speak fluent Spanish so it’s hard to get better.
I’m in Year 12 IB HL Spanish (the absolute highest class available in my school), but I’m not yet fluent. I can’t wait to spend time in Spain and Latin America and hone my skills!

I’ve been studying spanish in school for years. I never really had much intrest in it and I sort of always slacked off. It just started clicking to me and I wish now that I had studied harder and actually tried. Who knows where I could have been with it by now? I speak spanish with customers at my job sometimes, but I am far from fluent.
elzi carpe diem!
I can speak some Spanish, actually I was pretty good at it 4 years ago, when I was attending real classes, reading books and watching Spanish language movies, and then slowly I forgot it. I stopped practicing and now I am really ashamed of speaking this language. Last summer I was two weeks in Mexico and was trying to refresh my Spanish. Well, simple things like buying in the store or ordering a drink were easy, but real conversation… I could just smile nicely, what a shame. I need to start again.
I love Spanish and I would really love to speak it fluently- it’s just so hard to learn without knowing any spanish people or having the oppurtunity to practice…! I reckon I’ll get there eventually though :)

Are there any good books that are beyond the juvenile level but not super difficult for someone with more than a superficial but less than expert knowledge of spanish?
Really wanna do this so I can travel to Palma in the next 5 years.
Spanish is offered at the school next year, I’m defiantly gonna try it.
