On Wednesday I have an audition for a Boston tour guide company called Ghosts & Gravestones. Boston is one of the most haunted cities in the U.S. and I LOVE creepy so this is right up my alley. I am so excited! I already planned out what I’m going to wear (dressing up like one of the Boston Strangler victims)and I have “Alas, Poor Yorick” already memorized. Perfect for a haunted tour audition!

Basically, this is a paid acting job!! And making a living acting is another goal of mine, and fulfilling that would give me such a huge confidence boost to go out into the industry. I’m feeling really good about it. It’s the perfect job for me. Creepies and acting :) YES!!

Wish me “break a leg!”

I’M A YOUNG SINLE MOTHER WITH TALENTS THAT SHOULD BE ON SCREEN. I HAVE A DETERMINATION THAT I WILL NOT LET ANYONE TAKE AWAY FROM ME. TYLER PERRY IS A IDOL FOR ME NOT BECAUSE HE HAD TO STRUGGLE BUT BECAUSE HE FOUGHT THE FIGHT WITH CLOSE EYES HE WENT BACK TO THE STREETS THAT HE HAD HE HAD TO STRUGGLE FROM AND GAVE LIFE TO OTHERS. HE WAS GIVEN A BLESSING AND HE’S USING THAT BLESSING TO BLESS OTHERS. HE’S A MAN OF GRACE AND SOMEONE THAT I WANT TO WORK FOR WITH A ENDLESS SMILE.

Audition. 2 years ago

I auditioned for a part for an amateur musical in July, and I got the part I went for, even though I dance like a robot :D. I have two other auditions coming up, too: one for a pantomime, Snow White, and one for a different theatre company, in the chorus.

Definitely worth doing!

Auditioned to sing with a local choral group. I don’t yet know if they want me, but I’m pleased that I did it and did pretty well.

I’m looking into setting up an audition for another area choir—Orpheus Chamber Singers. I have a couple of friends who sing in the group and so I’ve been to several of their concerts. It would be fun to get to sing some of the kinds of music they do and to do a regular concert series. I’m terrified of the audition process, though. I haven’t auditioned for anything in front of brand new people in years and years and years. I have no doubt that I would be good in the group, but I do have doubts about my abilities in the audition setting. Eep.

fingers crossed + practicing like a motherfucker = success (I hope)!

Recently, I realized that I hadn’t auditioned for ANYTHING in months. I’ve gotten to a point in this city where I can get by just doing shows when someone asks me. I know enough people that I get phone calls/emails sayiing “Hey, I want you to do this project” or “Will you come to my callbacks?” and I don’t have to be productive at all. So, I got off my ass and went to two auditions in the course of one weekend, and have already been informed that I’m cast in the first one. Definitely worth doing.
