I had to change my Etsy store address. It is now:
http://www.ShadeOfABonsai.etsy.com
The attorney for the estate of Astrid Lindgren (author of Pippi Longstocking) contacted Etsy to give them a deadline for removing my store before they would take legal action. My shop user name was pippilangstrumpf (pippi longstocking in German). A name I set up as a buyer without considering shop names etc. Initially it was a bother because I had to spend a fair bit of $$ to replace promotional merchandise but they’ve probably done me a favour. Normally one can’t change etsy names and keep all old feedback and everything else in the store but Etsy admin did it for me. Now my store name is more appropriate.

To be revealed at a later date. I really enjoyed doing it even if it didn’t turn out quite as I envisioned!!

I was really pleased with these!! A group of us decided to run Race For Life dressed in neon pink this year and so I decided to make tutus for K and I.
I found a really good online guide (through flickr I think) and bought some tulle and got started. The first one (mine) was a little longer and less full than K’s but her one came out really well as we made it shorter and fuller. I even had enough fabric left over to make Stinky Pinkleton a mini baby one!!

At the same time I made the frame for my MIL I also made her a keyring with a photo of the children on one side and ‘Nanna’ on the other. I was quite pleased with it so I made one for my brother’s birthday and one for myself too!

For my mother-in-law’s birthday I made a photoframe out of a collage of photos (if that makes sense) and then put bigger photographs in the middle.
It wasn’t exactly perfect but the overall frame looked good and MIL now has it on the windowsill in her front room :)

Full details under my ‘learn to use my sewing machine goal’. I was really pleased with it and now have it in the playroom to keep toys in.

This year’s Easter Sunday after dinner activity arranged by my mother-in-law. I really got into it and thoroughly enjoyed painting myself a ‘I am doing 43 things’ mug which now proudly stands in my kitchen holding pens!

Finally managed to have the henna party I’d been planning for ages back at Easter. It was a lot of fun and we all spent ages drawing out designs and tattooing each other.
As a result we all decided to book in for the real thing and 5 of us went together for tattoos in August!
It was creative and a lot of fun too!

art emptiness
For most of my life I was an artist. Because of my work, and how I devoted myself to other things, my art has suffered. Now, I want to go back. My art materials have become old, some have expired… my blank canvas hasn’t changed for years (it actually became dirty and somewhat mouldy).
Some baby steps would help me start again. I have to keep this in mind and actually work on it.
