JulieJordanScott is continually setting odd goals that need translation for many people
With my nine-year-old, Emma, once again filling in as my “hot date” and we had an absolute blast!
There were so many people there who I admire and enjoy as human beings AND artists, I was positively blown away.
I got hug after hug after hug and it felt like the people I didn’t know already knew me, which is always a little bit odd (and cool at the same time.) “Aren’t you Julie Jordan Scott?” Why yes… I am… LOL.
I talked up Girls Night at Remington, the possibility of doing a Writing Workshop and more soul poetry at the Gallery, scheduled the first Wine Group with Christopher on the 29th. Matilda Kay and I laughed a bit, bought one of the Bakotopia Compilation CDs, bumped into Michelle Lyon and a couple of her friends, talked about the Vagina Monologues with a bunch of people, talked up Rocky call backs with people… saw Phread and Thomas and Nick and several Jens and Denise, Ryan, Michael, Susan, Nyoka, Laura, Kelly, Victorio… Dawn… and I am sure there are more…and then there was my photo from the Californian that Jen Williams had added to the wall which made me REALLY happy. I said to Jen W. “This makes me feel so much a part of things!” Reviewing in my mind all the conversations tonight, am reminded I really AM a part of things.
I also loved how Emma so enjoys hanging out with folks, and how accepting everyone is of her, nine-years-old or not. (the photo is of the two of us there. Not the best photo – shows how tired I think we both were, but I love that the evening was captured on film, at least a little, by my friend Laura, AKA “Woof Woof”
