buy fresh flowers more often

Nothing makes being stuck at my desk more pleasant than a vase full of beautiful flowers. I think I’ll start tomorrow. Happy to be joining this group.

Have to put this one on the back burner for now. Off the list until I can do it every week or so.

It’s hot here in NYC! I was going to buy fresh flowers this weekend, but because of the heat (combined with my sixth floor location), I thought that they would die a quick death. Maybe I’ll try a plant for the summer.

Two weekends ago at the farmer’s market I bought a handful of lilacs for only $5. They smelled amazing and looked so beautiful in my living room. This weekend my roommate bought beautiful pink and white flowers. Maybe this will become a tradition for us…

I also bought flowers for my friend and co-worker today because it was her birthday. While I was arranging them in the vase, so many people commented on how beautiful they were. Flowers seem to brighten any space or mood.

Today I got a plant from my co-worker Alan for no reason! It is a Hyacinth which is one of my favorites! Yay!

With spring quickly approching I have taken to buying small potted indoor plans. The only problem is once they bloom they die and then I am left with this pot of dead flowers and dirt! Boo!

I bought a real live wreath for my door the other day.
It is big and huge and actually took two people to
restrain it to the door but it is green and every time
I open the door I can smell it. Plus because it is evergreen and outside it should last until January! Yipee!

I don’t know why but I love having fresh flowers in my house. I like buying them, I like carrying them home, and I love arranging them in the vase. The only thing I don’t love is the smelly gunky water that is left after the flowers have died. Oh yeah, and the cost of buying them…that kind of sucks.

I have lots of green plants throughout the house, the screened porch, the deck, the wrap-around porches . . . and I love the addition of fresh flowers to the greenery as a treat to myself.
