Haven’t been on this site for 2 years. Got my application for grad school back and have been attending for a year! Whoo hoo – goal accomplished!

I read a quote from Aristotle along the lines of,”Where the needs of the world intersect with your talents and skills, there lies your life’s work.”
With this in mind, the role of Statistician is really leaping out at me. There is a massive demand for statisticians in a wide range of industries. I have an aptitude for maths and a bachelors degree in biological sciences. It looks to me like a masters in biostatistics is a great way to be closely involved in cutting-edge science and research without the extreme competitiveness of trying to make it as a scientist. The demand for people with these skills will mean that I can work in just about country that I want and expect a good income for doing it.
Sounds like just what I’m looking for!

so i’ve complained about wanting to change jobs and getting off track in my career. The fact remains, the extra little 2 years of fun has led to having many more choices and opportunities than just a BS (psych and counseling)

I sent off my application to graduate school on Saturday. I wonder when i’ll hear back?

I’m coming to the end of my Bachelor degree, and I’m actually not sure anymore if I want to be doing my Master right now. If at all. Maybe it would be beneficial for me to go out into the working world? People say it’ll be hard to go back, but I do like to learn… I think I’d come back, and study something completely unrelated.

Speaking of unrelated degrees, because I want to move to Canada, it may be useless for me to get my Master in Psychology because while I can practice as a psychologist here, I can’t in Canada without a PhD, which I’m not prepared to get (with my lack of intellect).

    It’s a doozy of a pickle.
