Took a class
I took a class about two weeks ago called ‘Food and Mood’. The instructor went over how food and a balanced diet affected mood and health, it was very interesting. I knew most the basics about nutrition, but she did have some amazing recipes to help with winter blues. Like a nice barley and turkey soup. Everything was made from scratch and it really inspired me to try different things, like an avacado and mixed fruit smoothie! After taking this class for $40 I’m thinking of investing $100 and taking a series of beginner cooking classes. While I don’t normally stock my kitchen amazingly, this last class at PCC (local co-op) inspired me to keep it simple, and use less processed foods or boxes which in the long run is cheaper.
Wish me luck!

While i can read all I want about cooking my ‘budget problems’ are really setting me back! Because of school and work some times my dinner is from a deli, or my snacks are from vending machines. I’m kind of disappointed in the amount of fresh food at my school. But any way, this will be put aside until i can get groceries again. bleh I really want to try different recipes, and different ways to cook things, but until i have time+budget+time . it’s just not happening!

After watching Kitchen Nightmares and seeing exciting menus develope I’m itching to serve some good food. I’m craving good food, not just good enough >< To help I’ll be signing up for a cooking class because i think my lack of cooking knowledge is holding me back. We’ll see how it goes :)
