The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever

While on this earth... 3 months ago

On a daily basis, as a believer in Jesus Christ, I seek to glorify God with my life. There are plenty of opportunities to share a smile, to listen, and to love people for who they are and who they desire to become.

Today, lets glorify God. That’s why we are here.

life, growth, joy, loss and purpose defined 10 months ago

I have always loved God. I have also always loved and enjoyed life. As a teenager Typical feelings of am i good enough ? What am I supposed to do? Do i look ok? I found a real pull toward spritual things in a local Baptist church as a youth. We went on a bus and our parents did not attend. Then as a young adult family, career later and we joined a church. The family split up after 15 years. to much focus on monitoring everyone’s spitual life and losing the focus, fun and direction of myself. Quit attending church but never lost the passion and zeal of the Christian life. I always felt the pull of the sweet gentle spirit as well as a fear of transgressing too far from the truth I had been taught. Then at age 29 I lost the most precious of human possessions; My son. He was murdered on November 3rd, 2008 by a man who let his mind become a workshop for Satan. I have fallen to the ground in grief and as the pilgrim we all are in the journey of life I must pick up the armour of God and push forward to the prize. I am renewing my goals in this new year of 2009 and have many wonderful plans for fun , travel, financial success and renewed committment to the much neglected word of God in my life. I realize that my ultimate life goal is to Glorify God and I hope to do that in 2009. Charlene trevino

If I do not achieve this goal – then none of the others are worthwhile.
All good things come from God.

Let us all worship God, but what exactly did God do to deserve that? 2 years ago

Yes, let us all “worship a God who is thought to favor the war in the Middle East in order to accomplish some obscure prediction found in the late first century book of Revelation, who suppresses women in the name of ancient patriarchy, or who is so deeply homophobic that oppressing homosexuals becomes the defining issue of church life.

Such an irrational, superstitious deity has no appeal to me and the attack of atheists against this kind of God is welcome. I also do not want to be told that the “true God” can be found either in the inerrancy of the Bible or in the infallibility of a Pope. Both are absurd religious claims designed not to discover truth but to enforce religious authority and conformity.”

A vision of the glorification 2 years ago

While I was in meditation, I had this vision:

I was in a vast crowd – people in every direction – in a heavenly realm. The architecture was gleamingly white and in a classic style. We were all in white robes, and we were all facing a single direction.

I thought we were all facing one way, and I thought that we were because we would see God enthroned before us. But then a voice came to me that there was no God before us. Instead, there was only the Divine within us.

And then I became aware that everyone was translucent, and inside everyone was a glowing light. And the people who were chanting, Glory! Glory! Glory! were more visibly brighter than the others around them.

recognizing my pride 3 years ago

Pride does come between God and I. When I am proud, I depend on only what I believe is true. It is only my opinion on how things need to be done. I do not turn to the Lord for help. I need to read his word every day, I need to pray to Him all day long, I need to submit everything to Him. Pride does not allow me to accept direction from Him or any one else, as I feel I know better than they do.
