breathe helium

I love inhaling balloons. It is fun but when I tried it. Something fun and dangerius happened. My voice changed but I feel dizzy and almost fainted. I continue to inhale balloons. I love it!

Helium is completely unreactive, the danger from breathing it in is simply lack of oxygen.

It is fun though.

Today was my very first inhalation of helium. There was a party or meeting or something in the basement of my college’s campus center, and they had helium balloons. Somebody was playing around near the end of it, pulling out balloons and inhaling the helium. I asked him if he could open one for me, and he did. I sounded like a came straight out of the Wizard of Oz. It was hilarious! I even left a message on my friend’s cell phone in a helium voice.

One thing I will advise, it is a lot of fun, but it is not to do very often. When you have a whole balloon, take real breaths of oxygen between puffs of helium; when I first did it, I felt like I’d been running for a while. So seriously, catch your breath before breathing in more helium. And don’t do this very often; I didn’t have a problem, but I’ve been told that it can be dangerous in large ammounts. Kills brain cells and all that.
