zimt9 moving to a new house and a new life more creative
it is something i d like to do, i tried it and it great …. it just feels right, and i think that it would make a big difference in my eveyday life in being more calm and feeling better.
How I did it: Once I started going to the classes and realized how great I felt working out around other people who were having the same experience that I was, it made me feel much more at ease about learning. Read how I did it…
Lisa has contacts now.
How I did it: Friend of mine is a teacher, but also looked us the poses online at www.abc-of-yoga.com/ and took a few classes of Body Flow at my gym.I practice at least once a day and in order to improve my flexibility, sit in simple pose, hero, or half lotus at most times when seated. By incorporating the poses into everyday life, it had become easier. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I took a class in college to fill my physical education requirement. The class taught the basics of yoga, meditation, and also some pilates. The skills were a lot harder to learn than I anticipated, but after you get used to the positions it becomes easier. I enjoyed the meditation more than anything. Read how I did it…
Elizabethcatherine just worked up a sweat and feels great!
How I did it: I just used some articles from magazines I had laying around the house. I started doing yoga and concentrating on my problems as I did it, to help release my anxiety. It worked great. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I took some lessons in hatha yoga. Our yogi was really into the pure physics of hatha yoga, so he wasn't talking a lot about the philosophy behind the whole concept. And that's what made it so pure for me. I've been able to find rest inside myself, after only five lessons or so. I definitely want to take more lessons in the future. Of course you can't 'learn yoga' in three months, I think it takes a lifetime. But I finally got to the poin… Read how I did it…

I had my first yoga class today…
ow….
But it’s free through the queer youth group I used to attend in Vancouver. Yay free! So yeah. Six weeks from now when the class ends, I hope to check off this goal.

My sister has agreed to teach me. She just took a yoga class last semester and she has been looking up poses and she has a cool book. :) It is very great. She came into my room yesterday and taught me some of the poses and such. I’m fairly decent so far, and it’s pretty fun, although yesterday it wasn’t relaxing because my room is about 9ftx10ft, plus my furniture and everything, and the dogs were running around in there because my parents had company downstairs. So, we were trying to lay on the floor and do some funny pose, and the dogs were jumping all over us and dropping a slimy tennis ball on our faces. But we had fun and she agreed to teach me more later. :)
My first Yoga lesson completed :) It was fun and hell of a stretching. I think I am longer (and thinner :)) already :) Really liked it and going to continue :)
My mom loves yoga and I have tried it a few times and really enjoyed it. I definitely see the physical and emotional benefits you can get from it. Maybe this will even help with my other goal of improving my posture! The high costs of classes were keeping me from really getting into the practice, but I finally did some research and found out there are so many free classes offered around the city! I also purchased a yoga for beginners video to practice at home. I cannot wait to try it out. :)
NualaBuala is having a lovely Saturday
I went to an introduction class tonight. I did enjoy it but it was a bit demoralising in some ways as I found it so difficult in parts. I’ve never been good at sticking to things so I will go to the rest of the course and hopefully it will get easier in time!
Anyway, I’m pleased as I’m one step nearer my goal.

I’ve tried yoga twice before and it made me feel terrific but I didn’t stick with it. Partly as I’m not good at aticking to things but partly cos I didn’t like the teacher or the overcrowded facilities.
I’ve signed up to a beginners class next week so here’s hoping I stick with it!
I want tto learn yoga, to make my body healthy, more flexable, and to be in tune with my self
actionxabby is making her list!
There isn’t anything quite like rejuvenating yourself and having your mind, body, and spirit move as one. This would be a great thing to practice since I plan on being so much more active. We all know how much sore muscles and attitudes work out for us- they don’t!
Sunflowers24 is reading "War of the Worlds"
I have a big book on yoga, walking the reader through different positions and workout, pictures included, but it’s always intimidated me a bit. I live in a house with all hard wood floors, so first, I must acquire a yoga mat or a big rug.
