I can now officially mark this goal as done. Last week I bought some shampoo specially for curly hair. It makes my curls a lot nicer and bouncy!
I love my hair!!
my curly hair is not really curly but curly enough where it hard to keep it straight so i scrunch it.
any ideas?
My hairstylist gave me this book to read while I was under the driers getting a deep conditioning treatment.
The authors claim that curly girls and boys have fewer follicles producing natural oil on their scalp, and thus have drier scalp skin and should never, I repeat NEVER use shampoo. They claim that the simple physical action of scrubbing your scalp is enough to clean it, and that sudsy products are bad, bad, bad.
I tried their No-Poo, which is a “conditioning cleanser” without any foaming action, and I have to say my scalp has never felt better. I used to think I had dandruff; my scalp was dry and sometimes flaky. (But no more.)
I’m not committed to the rest of their products, but I have to say I’m liking this no shampoo thing.
My hair has grown, and it know looks really good. I am not sure what it’s going to give when it gets longer, but for now I like it.
i cut it. i got a really great hairstylist and cut off 14 inches. it’s all about the style. and now i love it, can’t get enough of it. :D
People always used to make fun of my curly hair when I was young. I hated it. Then I did dreadlocks, which was great for a while but now I wanted a change. I cut the dreads and now I’m going to try and let it grow, see how my curls will be this time.

I got an impromptu haircut last weekend, which is really helping. I love what my hair’s doing now that it’s shorter and I’m moussing it. I’ve worn it down every day, and I’ve resisted the urge to brush it. Where I would have brushed before, I just left it curly and unkempt, and despite my fears, it looks just fine. I’d like it even shorter, but that’s a matter of style. Finally, I like my hair the color it is AND the style it is. Finally!
What you have is special and unique, and don’t let anyone make you feel differently. Naturally curly hair is beautiful.

I’m trying to wear my hair down more often – at least three or four times a week.
Shampooing less often really does help – I wash with conditioner alone except about twice a week. Since I don’t use product, my hair doesn’t really get “dirty”. I do notice it’s healthier and silkier.
