This isn’t anything new to me. For a while, I was doing this everyday. Then something happened to break me out of my routine (who knows what – I’m sure it was nothing worthwhile) and I completely stopped.
It’s one of those things were I miss it because I know how good I felt when it was second nature. I just want to get back to that point.
Right now, I have a cheapo substitute mat (more of an exercise mat than a yoga mat) and it’s really put a damper on wanting to do yoga. I go up into down dog and feel my hands slipping. But…it’s better than carpet!

How to practice yoga every day"I'm beginning to think I can't live without it . . ."
How I did it: Well started off with me being determined to revive a yoga practice (very brief and intermittent - so basically not really a practice, more of a stutter ) from a few years ago. As I'd returned to college and couldn't afford yoga classes time and money wise, i set up a college yoga society. So my practice started off 2 days a week. Things progressed from there and now seem to have been sucked in through some incensed (as in the smelly burning stuff, not the angry stuff) sanskrit portal. I'm all Ayurveda'd, meditative and yogied and I actually quite miss it (and notice it physically and mentally) if there's a day or two without a practice. . . . I wish that was me in the photo but not quite yet. .
Lessons & tips: Main thing is to find a style that suits you to start off with. Shop around as there's a myriad of styles and then teachers for each style. There's loads of good DVDs or websites but to start with I think it's really important to go to a class and learn the basics properly, rather than trying to unlearn bad habits later. It also means that when you do practice at home you understand more what they're talking about on the DVDs, physically and verbally.
Keep your resolve - like anything don't expect to be stupendously good from the start. Yoga is one of those things that you take up for life, so take your time and be patient with yourself - its soooo worth it! Resources: My top picks are: http://www.yogatoday.com/and DVDs by Shiva Rea. as well as looking around for you local yoga studios - or even a bit of a commute is no object if the studio/teacher is worth he trip! =)

salutationsyoga is working on my website
How I did it: I picked a time each day and went. At first, I started adding yoga once a week to my workout, and then added a few more days, until one day I realized that yoga was what I wanted to do at the gym the most. After that, it was easy to practice yoga every day. Read how I did it…

I leave for India in two weeks and cannot think of a better place to learn yoga. I hope to rise at 5am every morning to attend a daily yoga class while I travel.
CookieRa Hmmm . . What to do, what to do . . .
I really want to develop a daily practice of yoga and meditation. i have to say, since doing them regularly, I really notice the difference when I don’t do it. Best thing to do right now is set up a proper place for me to do it and set a time that suits and know I’ll stick too . .

I’m saying this goal is done-mostly because of my latest endeavor of 30 in 30. I have been more conscious of my practice and it has grown tremendously because of this. I don’t know if I will practice every single day alwaysb-ut I am very excited to have my yoga practice and will most likely practice daily.
I have been a 5 class/week person for some years, but I have never done every day. I also haven’t really enjoyed a home practice very much…until this week! I finally rolled out my mat on one of my “days off” and just let my body go where it wanted. It was extremely liberating, relaxing, and invigorating, like a moving meditation. I only did about 30 minutes followed by a 30 minute sit, but I felt so fantastic that I think a new precedent has been set. When I can’t carve out 2 hours in my day to travel to my yoga center, I will let my body be the teacher and practice at home.
Good luck, yogis! Namaste.

Took an advanced class-which gave many variations to each pose. Loved it! Tried forearm stand for the first time today!

I had a wonderful class this morning. I tried a different studio and got a great teacher. I liked her style and it was very challenging. I can’t wait to go back.

Since I will be teaching now, I want to continue to develop new sequences and deepen my own practice. I hope that this will help me practice each day.
