I have my first class tomorrow! It’s very exciting. I haven’t even thought about Spanish since my sophomore year of high school. I’m very excited to learn.
How to take a spanish class
How I did it: Trying something new is always scary and this was no exception. I was really scared to take a Spanish class, but now I'm about 4 weeks into it and am really enjoying it. It's defiantly some hard work, but I feel more accomplished the more I learn.
Lessons & tips: Take it one step at a time, and practice, practice, practice...

stufaluf is ready for a change. growing up and living life. what more is it?
I want to take conversational spanish. I took spanish in 1989 and I don’t really remember anything, but my numbers, a few colors, and some phrases. Spanish would come in handy due to having students that only speak spanish in my classes. I would be able to communicate with them instead of relying on a student to do the teaching for me. I am really looking forward to the class. It starts on September 16 and goes until November 4, meeting once a week from 6-9. Hopefully, I will learn much and once that is done I will sign up for the intermediate course. I think it is good to be fluent in more than one language. The United States will have more aliens then Americans in it after while. Spanish will help in the workplace and just to be able to communicate with other backgrounds is interesting.
Well, I finally took the class and talked my boss into taking it with me. It was a blast, the professor was so likeable and made the class so much fun. I have retained a lot of it and try to use the language as much as possible. It wasn’t as hard as what I thought it would be. So take the class if it is on your list!
I took a conversational Spanish class, got an A, and didn’t learn a thing. I just memorized a lot of verbs for a test, but I didn’t really learn how ti use them.
I had hoped that a conversational class might have more talking and memorizing of key phrases just to get used to hearing it and speaking it, but this class really wasn’t set up that way.
one of those things that I need to do. There’s so much going on in my head now. For one, I felt that life is short and I need to learn as much as possible. But then, there’s so much to learn in the finite amount of time.
I took Spanish Class with the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations, under the government program in Malaysia. They seemed not to mind of the fact that I’m a student, so basicaly I saved a lot of money joining them (it’s free)
I finished Level I, and waiting for Level II enrollment.
Trying to read lots of Spanish books now so it sticks to my head
Well, I guess I’ve officially taken a Spanish class. 2 nights a week after work is a harsh commitment, but hopefully it’ll bring me to my other goal of becoming fluent. So far, my experience at Casa Hispana in San Francisco has been really great. It’s also interesting to see what makes a bunch of adults take on such a task.
I’ve yet to find out the whole story!
So I went for an assesment and actually starting next week. I just hope that I could make it back from work in the south bay early enough to make it. (this is not a concern I should have for a 7PM class)
