Visited India:
Got to act in a tv serial.
Visited people that I have been fearing to visit for more than 5 years. They are not only “not bad”...they were so amazing to live with. The experience was unforgettable and taught me so much about myself and about my roots. Made me realize what I take advantage of and my lack of appreciation for kindness and care. As soon as i got back to America, I felt a change in me that was caused by my visit to India.

that’s right!
i quit my job of 5 years to travel and focus on photography.
hooray!
I just transferred the last big chunk of cash today. It’s official: we are out of debt!
This year I’ve already successfully transfered schools, moved 400 miles away from home and changed my major to something I absolutely adore. I went from a Gen AA Major in Panama City to a photography major in Daytona in only a little over 3 months :)
Another idea: get a piano, and learn to play. I think this would only count if we really made the piano a part of our lives. Like praticing every day, and having a family music time or something. But I like the idea.
Someone suggested that we give up TV. Actually, we already did! Somewhere between “elope in Las Vegas” and “have a baby”. I can’t believe we didn’t even think of it a change-your-life decision. We weren’t watching much tv to begin with, so it wasn’t that life-changing. Though I can think of quite a few people for whom this would be a radical change!
Another year has come and gone, and we need to think of an idea for 2006!
We just can’t decide. My husband got his book published… but I don’t think I could write something and get it published this year. My husband is learning his first second language (for realy this time, not like college French), but I’ve already done that (a couple of times). And we said we wouldn’t do things too specific (like “visit Omaha”), and “learn Norwegian” feels like that. Maybe I could be convinced otherwise.
I’d like to add “walk the Camino de Santiago” to the future list. But a 3 year old and a 1 year old make that an unfeasible goal for this year.
What could it be? Something that would take all year to complete, or a one-time thing? Come to think of it, “get out of debt” is a great one. Ha! We’ll work on that.
We moved to Norway! We have only been here for less than a week but I love it! We visited our new apartment yesterday… and we move in in one week!
This is a goal my husband and I made together 4 years ago when we seceretly eloped in Vegas (before the family wedding a few weeks later). We have struggled how to define it… life-changing, suprising/unconventional, something we’ve never done before. There are a few qualifying criteria. The next year we got tatoos (small initials under our wedding rings). After that, we had our first child (that sure was life changing!). Last year we stopped eating mammals. But our deadline (June 17) is coming up, and we don’t have one nailed down yet.
So what should we do next? I think this year it might be to move out of the United States. But after that? Buy a house is a good one. Never done it, and it would be a nice change to stop paying rent! We were going to do “write a book”, but my husband is already writing/publishing a book this year, so I would miss out on that. Adopt a child is a good one. Lots of children out there that need homes, and we’ve definitely never done that before. My husband has suggested that we pose nude (like for an art class, nothing skeevy). Building a successful family company was also an idea of his. Getting unicycles was one I liked a lot, too… though it seems like it would only qualify if we made it our main mode of transportation, or something.
We were hoping to avoid obvious things like “go skydiving” or mundane things we’ve never done before, like visit Omaha.
More ideas?
2001: elope in Vegas
2002: get a tatoo
2003: have a baby
2004: stop eating mammals
2005: ?
