Very good book and movie. Hunter Thompson knows his drugs. I love how he captures the attention of drug enjoyers. I admit, i was a little skeptical about Depp playing the role of Duke, but i later learned that he spent months in his mothers basement preparing for the role. Great book, download it!!!

Ah yes an American counter-culture classic. I read this book a few months ago, after watching the movie. The movie and book are actually almost the same. Which is nice, seeing how movies usually butcher the book to a shell of its former glory.
This movie has had a big impact on my life and made me more curious.
It’s a short book, so do yourself a favor and read it. I love it!

A Confidence and Loving for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. 3 years ago

Just finished this book at around midnight yesterday, I’ve been reading it for a few days. I don’t know quite how to sum it up, it’s impossible, pure Hunter S. Thompson genius. Dr. Gonzo at his best.

I’ll be honest, I was a bit nervous reading it, because drugs aren’t exactly… my thing. Someone writing a book with a head full of acid sounded like some crazy to me, and I didn’t expect to like it very much. Well, I was half right, half wrong. The guy’s crazy. Crazy genius. And I loved it. Very, very much.

It’s so trippy and fantastic you start to wonder how it’s labelled non-fiction. I kept on having to check the back of the book. Non-fiction/Journalism. Hm. Never fails to shock me.

It’ll make you laugh, think, smirk, gasp, and blink with utter confusion. Pure genius reeking through the pages.

P.S. —I’m starting to read The Rum Diary now. I’ve bought the ticket, and I’m taking the ride. xP

If you want to read it, im almost positivley sure i’d buy it for you as long as when you finished you passed it on… Although i’d suggest reading some of his other books too. which im in the process of doing soon.

From the very first sentence I knew I was hooked. A spiraling, mindbending story. Read it in 3-4 days as I just couldn’t stop. The book gets a bit slow in the middle though, but not catastrophically at all.
