Learn to play the piano again

play the piano but somewhere between the “then and now” years i forgot how to..probably when i return home by August or September this year I’ll ask my friend for a free piano lesson..heheh

I played – unwillingly – for six years before I was allowed to quit, but kept the family piano when I moved into my apartment. I think it would be a sin to throw it away or destroy it!

Anyway, watching less tv and playing more piano might is probably a good idea, so I’m going to find my joy in music. I reckon if I can touch-type at 75wpm, I can learn to play Nina Simone’s Love Me Or Leave Me. That’s the goal for 2009.

I’ve been playing so much lately. Only on primer level and I’m still not good with my left hand but I’m trying actually.

They said if I seriously want to, and if I get lessons at uni during term-time, then they’ll buy me a keyboard so I can practice! I think this is actually going to become a reality for me now :D

I played piano for a little over 2 years and quit for 4. I started playing more and hoping to get as good as I was before.

I unpacked my boxes from this move and found all my old piano books and purple ribbons. I would love to be able to play like I used to—but is 30 years to long?

I hated piano lessons as a child and I kick myself on a regular basis for not listening to my mother.

i used to play quite well… well about 15 years ago haha! but somehow the novelty wore out once i realised i had to take theory exams and i really sucked at reading notes. i had to count the lines for every little black dot. i wish i could find time to take it up again

I used to love piano. I remember when I was a little kid, every piano lesson I attended was pure joy. But my dad thought it’s useless. He refused to pay for my piano lesson, however my mom still let me do the lessons and paid for it. But I finally gave up. It’s pretty much useless if I can’t practice. We don’t have a piano at home, and dad wouldn’t buy one for me. It broke my heart, and I still blame him until today for destroying my dream.

Now, it’s been 13 years, and everytime I hear someone plays piano, I feel so jealous and sad, because that could’ve been me. Now, I have my own job, I have my own money, so I decided to bring my dream back to life. I will start playing piano again. When? I don’t know. I have to save money to buy my own piano first. After that, I’m going to start learning to play piano again.
