BigMutha wants to go camping
to be honest. This is probably one of those things that I’ll revisit in years to come, but I’ve got so much going on at the moment that this just isn’t gonna happen.
How I did it: I sat down with a book, some yarn, and some needles, and worked and worked until I finally mastered the simple techniques. As a left-hander, this was difficult until I finally gave up and worked on learning right-handed. I utilized YouTube extensively as well.
Lessons & tips: Although difficult, it was one of the first things I learned to do
simply for my own satisfaction. I learn more and more about it every
time I sit down with a project.
Resources: Books can be really helpful, and that's actually how I learned, however I recommend recruiting someone you know that knits. It's much easier because when you can't figure out what you're doing wrong, they are able to figure it out (usually). If no one you know knits, then look up "knitting" on YouTube. There is a wealth of knowledge there.

I was always good at crocheting but hopeless at knitting. Had given up for many years. But it always gnawed at my conscience :-) as something I couldn’t do. So gave it another go this year. And I did it!! Made a lovely cabled scarf for myself. All courtsey videos on Youtube.

electrified is not procrastinating
I mentioned to my mother that I wanted to learn, and so she got me a little starter kit for Christmas. One of my aunts knits, so when we went up to see relatives for the holidays, she started to teach me. I’m learning, I’m learning…
brownsugarbear01 Will always have goals.
I bought this daily calender focusing on knitting and figured I’d learn through that. I can crochet, make beaded and wire jewelry, so why not knit? I’d love to make a sweater out of something that isn’t wool, something not from animal hair.
with a baby on the way, I feel it’s about time I learned to knit. I remember trying as a littl girl but I never had the patience. I know the basics, but I’ve never actually knitted anything useful. My baby deserves a basic blanket at the very least!
I wish knitting was easier to learn… I’m dedicated to learning how, but my mom, who is an excellent knitter, tries to teach me but lacks the patience to teach me and just when I finally start getting somewhere, she tells me “forget it, you can’t do it”...
I learned how to crochet from my mom, but she doesn’t know how to knit. I see a ton of books out there teaching how, but they really don’t seem like they are easy to follow. Maybe a class or find someone that can knit and ask them to show me the basics. I can learn the hard stuff later.
