Canon EOS 400D

Last weekend I fell totally in Love with my sister’s new camera. Her man had just bought it for her and they pushed it into my arms so that I’d tell them what to do with it. :D And of course I got totally hooked on it. ♥ It was so so beautiful and amazing and I loved it so much.
So for the rest of the weekend I just whimpered that I want the same camera. I still have my Olympus, but let’s be realistic here – I’ve had it for over a year and I still don’t really use it. It’s the exact same thing as with my bass. I probably will never properly pick it up and learn how to use it. In a way, that camera intimidates me. :s It’s too fancy and complicated and its previous owner was a professional photographer. There’s too much pressure with it. So mum and I decided that we’ll sell the Olympus and then I’ll buy the Canon EOS when I have more money.
But now I just got off the phone with my mother
and she told me that I’ll get the Canon on Monday! Wheeeeee! n__n ♥! ♥ ♥ !!!!!
My mum is the best ever! I can’t believe this! Oh I’m beyond ecstatic now! ♥
{incomprehensible babbling and gaagaa sounds}

I think I have developed a lot ever since I took up this goal. My pictures have gotten better and better, and I’ve started to use both of my cameras more.
I’m hoping to constantly get better at this, but this particular goal has now been reached. :)
There’s still so much I want to learn! And I still can’t say that I would be a pro with my Olympus, far from it. I have lots of work and learning ahead of me with that one. I also need to learn to get the best out of my new Kodak EasyShare C713 – I’m really loving that camera so far!

Major steps taken with my Olympus, yay! Yesterday I bought new batteries for the precious, haha. I finally got to test my new 512mb memory card, I got it as a Christmas present from my mum. I was really in need of it, my old memory card only had room for 32 pictures. :z Almost as a good as nothing, you see. But now I can just shoot away! :)
Went to take some photos by the lake shore, I can’t even remember when I’ve used my camera last. Couldn’t quite master the Olympus, but that’s not surprising. I need to practice, practice and then practice some more.
The pictures I took are rubbish, but still. It’s a start.

Last night A and I went to see this old abandoned house on the outskirts of Tampere and naturally we took photos, 259 of them to be exact. The main purpose for us to go there was in fact to take photos of me.
A managed to take some really great shots, again. n _ n He’s brilliant.
And yeah, I was seriously freezing there! :’D So so cold, the windows were broken so the cold air got in. Luckily A had brought this big red blanket with him so I could warm myself up every once in a while.
// More pictures found here: http://ron.1g.fi/lyhty/ , A made a cool viewer thingy again. (:

I started to feel really bad a couple of weeks ago when A was visiting me
because he was so excited about my Olympus and I hadn’t even used it that much. I felt somewhat ashamed. I’ve had that camera for almost a whole year now! O _ O I seriously need to start properly using it.
I would have taken it with me last week when A and I went shooting around the city
but of course none of my batteries worked. :z So I had to leave it home, buhuu. (But luckily I got some nice pics with my smaller camera.)
And on the other side of the camera: Last night I modelled, for real, for the first time. A and I went to this old abandoned tunnel that was built in the 30’s. It was so amazing, I really liked that place. Haven’t felt that adventurous in a while.
The pics we got are just incredible! You can see some of them here: http://ron.1g.fi/tunneli/

Since I’m really missing my family right now (haven’t seen some of them in ages + I haven’t been homehome in a while)
I thought I’d share with you guys one of the studio shots I took of my immediate family in March. There’s my mum, my sister Susanna and her two daughters Sanja (the older one) and Aliisa. <3
And oh! these pics were taken with my Olympus! :) One of the rare occasions I’ve used it for so far.

I think I could take up a subgoal on this goal as well.
How about “Share photos”? That sound good? (:
I still haven’t started using my other camera, I really need to get around to doing so soon. You can’t let a good camera like mine go to waste. I don’t know what’s wrong with me – why is it so difficult to pick my Olympus up and learn to use it?
Maybe I’m scared, in some freaky way. :x
Anyway, subgoal! First picture I want to share is a picture I took of my cousin Niko during the summer.

I have two cameras:
a small Kodak EasyShare C340, which I know how to use very well
and a bigger Olympus Camedia E-20P, which is a really good camera but I just don’t know how to properly use it yet.
That should be my next task: to learn how to make the most of my great Olympus.

Well as anyone knows…everyone can take pictures…they can be about family times, scenic scenes, weddings, etc. I, however, would love to get back into the idea that I can take some great pictures. I took some back in high school and thereafter….and now that I have a newer digital camera—I might be able to get some decent shots!
