Slow and fast
So on Monday I ran and my time was 10:37. Today, Saturday, I ran and my time was 11:05. The only thing I can think of that hindered my performance today was the fact that I exercised (Wii Fitness) for thirty minutes. I should have just gone running and then come back. I feel that I do go slower when I’m exercised a little beforehand. My next goal? 10:20. I’ma work it!

I just read my last entry from last year and whoa! I shaved off 5 minutes from my time! I’m getting faster. I recently ran a half-marathon in which on average I ran 11 miles. Now I’m closer just by one minute. I just gotta keep running. And the goal is to run every other day and just run a little faster each time. Where I get stopped is I start fast and then slow down towards the end. I’ll make it happen. I’ve come along this far!

I run sporadically. Right now, it takes me about 16 minutes to run A mile. If I can run a ten minute mile one day, then I’d be running Really Fast! I wanna get there. :)

YAY RUNNING!

I am a newbie runner training for the Phila Distance Run in Sept 2008, and am currently training with a real simple and easy running plan…my suggested training pace is 17:19, but I typically run an easy pace of 12 – 13 minute miles. I find that when I run with certain types of music, I run faster and only recently began running straight through with no stops (2 miles)...we’ll see how long that continues :)
Running 3 miles tomorrow!

Tuesday of this week I ran a mile in 8:33. Today I slowed down to just 9:45 but was then able to run three miles without having to drop to a walk. You wouldn’t think a minute and a quarter slower pace would make such a difference, but it did as I normally have to drop to a walk two or three times when running my regular pace. The neatest thing was that I actually beat my time by going at a slower pace without walk breaks than what I do when I go all out and take the walk breaks.

I know this is going to take awhile, but it’s helping me to monitor my progress. On Saturday I did a fifteen minute mile. Getting better…

I got on the treadmill this weekend for the first time in a long time. I usually just do the elliptical machines and some crunches at the gym. But this time I got on the treadmill and did more than just walk. I ran for part of it – but I’m pretty out of shape and I can’t run for more than a couple of minutes at a time. Right now, I’m about about 17 minutes for a mile. I’ve got a ways to go, but hopefully I can shorten than time up in the coming weeks.
