listen to more music; find a new album every month

Bought a Okkervil River CD a couple days ago. Also recently discovered the band Two Gallants. I hope to buy their CD next month!

Finally did this. went to a show last week, of a band I didn’t really know, and got the album! March is done!

I’m getting to know Wilco better this month, thanks to a friend. Currently listening to “A Ghost is Born.”

And besides, this seems to happen quite naturally with no conscious effort.

Old Rolling Stones albums this month, rediscovered. Especially Between the Buttons and Some Girls, both great records, though years apart.

OK – I’m going to start this one this month. I want to get more new music and keep discovering bands. So, I need to go buy a new album this month. It’s a must.

I need to get ahold of some Patti Smith.

Update: This month’s album is Horses, by the aforementioned Patti Smith.

After they kept appearing on my zeitgeist, I thought I’d give they’re newest album a try. I like it a lot! Both liberal and country (Texan, even), for starters, and can manage both tough and sweet. Great all-women band. I thought they were ok when I saw them at the Lilith Fair way back when, but didn’t imagine I’d ever really get into them. Awright!

I’ve also been resurrecting my old Liz Phair albums. I love everything about these women’s music.

A friend introduced me to this band a little while ago. Beautiful stuff, allows itself to be background.
