Went in 2007

My dream trip beyond all dream trips, Florence! sigh

It was nice but somewhat disappointing. It’s a “real” city with actual people with real jobs so it’s not a completely tourist trap like I found Sienna to be (no offence or anything). It was still amazing though. I liked my time there without a doubt.

Definitely worth doing!!!!

The absolute highlight for me was a 1am stroll over the Ponte Vecchio and a boy no older than 8, dressed in full tux, singing the most beautiful arias I have ever heard. It is a truly magical place.

A beautiful, inspiring place.

Florence was a very old school city with narrow streets, great architecture and museums. My only regret was that I didn’t stay longer.

I am a Renaissance maniac. I love Petrarch, Ficino and Pico. This was such a cool time in history. I want to walk the streets that Petrarch walked!

This city was not for me. I probably would have more positive impression if it hadn’t been so damn hot!

Florence is fantastic, so full of history and culture. Try and visit sometime that isn’t August, as it’ll be really hot and absolutely packed with tourists then!
