Not well, but I can do it! Its just a case of twisting the new colour of yarn around the old to prevent holes in the knitting, and keeping all the small balls of yarns from tangling up. I made some yarn bobbins out of a cereal packet though, and they are much easier to untangle! 2 years ago

Ok, so I’ve knit up the part where the intarsia pattern begins. I’ve put a lifeline in, and I’m about to decipher the chart, then prepare the yarns (into small balls), and with the help of a number of youtube videos, I shall start. Fingers crossed I can do it! 2 years ago

I am knitting this for my friend’s birthday:

It will be my first intarsia project. I’ve already knit the back in plain stockingette, and am now starting on the first sleeve. I’ll get to the intarsia part in a week or so, and I intend to put a lifeline in at the start of it. I’m not too keen on working from charts either. I’m not a beginner knitter, but am not too intermediate either! I hope it works out! Wish me luck! 2 years ago

Well, it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, however, it doesn’t look GREAT, but, in time, I think it would be easier.
I definately think learning to intarsia has helped my colour change, though…. go figure?

But, trying the Jesse’s Flames sweater when I’m still a complete beginner is challenging… ‘course, I’m sure the stunted 3 scarves I made and the freaked out pair of socks is a good start… 6 years ago

During my last pregnancy, the local library offered a free knitting course. I loved it. I found knitting very relaxing- now I am branching out and want to learn intarsia – that’s where you make pictures or change colors in your knitting. 7 years ago
