Donating makes me feel good! 2 months ago

It’s hard for me to part with my clothes, even if i haven’t worn them in years. I recently gave away so many clothes, that in the “donating haze” I accidentally donated a bag of my winter clothes. I don’t have many to begin with, so that bag was every sweater i owned. I donated them to a local thrift store. Lucky for me It’s close by :) Funny thing is, when i went searching through the racks for my precious sweaters, I thought of how warm they were and how they would keep a stranger warm too. I managed to find almost all of them, but you know what? I didn’t seem like them as much as i had thought. I don’t know if I was sub-consiously convincing myself to let them go, or if i really did find them ugly as sin. Either way, I left them in the store and walked out with a cute wooden shelf for my kitchen. Good thing is, now i get to buy all new clothes :D

    until I have transportation.

However, I’m getting everything boxed, labeled, and ready to go today! Yay!

    I’m just lazy!

    Complete! 2 years ago

Now I finally have plenty of room! My room is nice and much less cramped, and I feel better knowing someone else can enjoy clothes for a reduced price.

    Almost there... 2 years ago

I started cleaning out my room yesterday and I’m ALMOST done. I have two large bags of things to donate and there’s more to come!

I don’t have the space I need in my room, and my extra belongings will go to a good cause.

I’ve brought a load to Goodwill every Sunday now for about a month (the whole spring cleaning thing has taken me by storm). It’s a win/win – I get rid of stuff that’s cluttering up my space, and I get to give to a cause I believe in. It’s supa. Plus, there’s no reason NOT to go in since I’m already there, and let’s just say that the whole “another man’s trash/treasure” thing holds up.

But i finally moved back home and remodeled my whole room and i went through so much stuff and hauled a shit load of boxes to goodwill, it felt good! And!! they gave me a reciept to write that stuff off in my taxes! :P

    Oh well 2 years ago

I thought I had more clothes to donate, but after trying on old clothes I no longer thought fit, I found that I must have lost weight over the past few years. Now I’m happy to find I can keep most of my clothes and start wearing them again. I did find two pairs of pants and two shirts that I will never wear. I guess it’s better than nothing though. I’ll mark this done after donating those few things. Perhaps I’ll donate again next year after seeing which of the old clothes I’ve decided not to wear so much (if any). :)

All dropped off 2 years ago

Because I had the donation bag lying around the house I kept finding more and more things to donate and it turned into two overflowing hefty bags full of stuff. Hopefully some of the items will make good non-denominational holiday gifts for underprivileged families.

Bag is packed 2 years ago

Just went through my armoire and closet and found about a dozen shirts and 3 pairs of pants to donate and packed them in a bag to bring with me to work on Wednesday.
